125 years ago today, the first game of football known to have occurred in Australia (under FA rules) took place when Wanderers played the Kings School rugby football team at Parramatta Common. Sadly it’s only in the past year that the sport seems to have made any real advances in it’s 125 years.
Yet while Sir Frank Lowy has taken the sport forward leaps and bounds, there are several issues I have with the recently launched (officially) A-League… I hope to address these in the next few days… but don’t worry, there will be a positive word or two…
For now, I just wanted to wish Australian Football a happy 125th birthday.
